Maverick buying in procurement
One in two buyers say they know what is meant by maverick buying. But only very few companies take measures to limit maverick buying or prevent it completely. Measures to optimize processes throughout the company and to reduce the maverick buying rate can be very straightforward, but above all highly profitable, e.g. using measures to raise awareness or monthly checks. The buyers surveyed in the study estimate that the measures allow them to save an average of up to 24% of the total costs in procurement!
